Shelly's Travels

So this is a little late, we've been struggling with Internet connections

Welcome Home! We finally were headed to get on the boat. This time we were in a Mercedes van. Our driver, Victor Sanchez Cabezas, was very pleasant. We were comparing the US cities to Barcelona. It’s been fascinating to see such a different way of life and atmosphere.

But anyway…We got to terminal right at 11. Of course there was a long line formed waiting for the doors to open. The people at the front of the line must have been there for close to an hour.

The surprising part was with the number of people there it was so well organized we didn’t have much in the way of a wait. We checked in and got our boarding number, 5. It wasn’t a long wait. As we boarded the ship, our family name was announced and the people who get paid to cheered.

Headed straight to lunch first. A very nice and very long buffet. I tried a Jones Crab Claw, not real impressed.

Next came switching our dining time to the later time, Colin wanted to eat later on. We also reserved spaces at a few “tasting Seminars”. We have two tomorrow, wine tasting and mixology. Then a monitor and Capirinha on Friday.

We still hadn’t been to the room, so we sat on some loungers in the adult only section of the boat. Colin read his book for five minutes before falling asleep. I soaked in the quiet of the adult pool area.

Once the rooms became available, we headed down. Colin slept again while I unpacked. I was surprised by how much room they gave to storage. Oh before going to sleep, Colin says, Is this really all there is? I think someone was spoiled with the villas at Disney.

Anyway, back to it….We had our lovely drill for the crew to show us where to go and how to done the lifejackets. Woohoo now don’t crash the boat!

From here I headed to the spa and Colin to the fitness center. When we got back together, we stopped at one of the adult only pubs and played trivia. We lost :(

But then it was time for dinner. Again for those worried about my food intake, I had a wonderful meal of Fried Lobster and prime rib. Colin went

for two desserts, but I stuck with the tried and true ice cream sundae. So no need to worry I am eating!

And it's time to leave the dock and head out to Italy.
