Beautiful, sunny day... Planned to spend the morning punting on the Avon but were unable to start our car due to a flat battery... Waited 2 hours for the AA guy to arrive and jump start the car by which time we had to drive to the airport to return the car and check in for our flight. On taking off our plane hit some birds and consequently we lost an engine and had to turn back. We were given some food vouchers and spent the next 8 hours waiting for a replacement plane to arrive from Sydney to transport us back to Melbourne. However, none of this could have tarnished our impressions of New Zealand and the feeling that we just had one of the best holidays ever!

Day 17: New Zealand South Island 2017

Thanks New Zealand's South Island, we may never be back but we will never forget what a wonderland you truly are!
