"I see land !"
We're in England !
I'm going to pass all the details and go straight up to the moment we met our family and discovered our room.
Well not exactly...Because the family had an outbuilding in which we slept for the week. Very comfy.
Below: Lola, Lea, Colleen, and I in our house for the week.
Our family's name was Ahiya. There were the parents and a 14 year-old girl named Kushi. The mother was called Neena. We got comfortable and went eating. After that, we went back to our house and the four of us agreed that Lola and Lea would take their shower in the morning, and Colleen and I in the evening. So, that night,
Colleen went first and took her shower peacefully. When it was my turn, the water was FREEZING cold. I asked her: "Was the water hot when you were showering ?" She told me : "Well, it was lukewarm but it was okay for me." Lukewarm. Hahaha.
So I waited, and waited, thinking that maybe the water would get warmer since perhaps, the shower has not been used for awhile.
After letting the water run for something like 20 min (Yes 20 min, I know what you think, environment, bla bla okay...), I called the Ahiya with a little Nokia phone they lent us in case of problem. The mother answered and told me she was going to send Kushi (their daughter).
Kushi arrived and 'checked' the water. Guess what she told me ?
"Oh wait for some minutes and it will get warmer."
My face at that moment :
Still, I hopped in the shower, praying that maybe, maybe, a miracle would happen and the water would get super hot.
Nothing happened.
But on top of the sink rested a carafe. Oh ! Here is my miracle.
I turned on the water of the sink and it was BOILING HOT.
As the sink was very close to the shower, I would take water from the sink in the carafe and pour it over me. African style.
No, actually not African style because let me tell you that my grandparents in Africa DO have RUNNING WATER and BOILING RUNNING WATER.
