Climbing Kilimanjaro 2017

My memories about this night are a bit blurry, maybe because of the altitude, but all I remember is that we kicked out Marc from the tent again and that we had to get up at 5:30 or something to climb up the wall early. As always, we were a bit later than scheduled so we had to watch an amazing sunrise while climbing up and not from the top as it was planned.
Nonetheless the view from the top of barancho wall was breathtaking, literally, at 4200 meters! Eventhough pissbreaks weren't rare, as we drank maybe 6-10l of water a day, I remember having maybe the best piss of my life with a spectacular view at the top, which also allowed for some great pictures.
The climb itself was not as hard as I expected and in general I was really enjoying that bit.
We stayed on the same height +/- 100m for quite a while and walked along the mountain until lunch. We were supposed to meet some doctors at Karanga Camp (3995m) to check if our V02 max was sufficient to make it to the peak, however they happened to have moved up to the Barafu Camp (Base Camp) at 4673m the day before so with only a little break we headed up for a last bit of rest before attempting to reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m at night.
Surprisingly Claire's Pills worked wonders and this time I arrived at 4673m only with a slight headache and after everyone was successfully checked up by the doctors we went to bed at around 6pm after having walked for ~11h and ascended more than 1200m due to the downward bits.
