1. Night sledding in Asitz

The four-kilometre-long Asitz toboggan run in the Leogang area is a fantastic place to go sledding. Take the cable car up, get on your borrowed sled and slide down the wide track. Make your sledding adventure even more exciting by racing down under a starry sky. Two evenings a week the track is open for night sledding . Hear the crunching of the snow under your sled as you look out at the beautiful street lights on the hills and the sparkling stars above your head.

2. Like a bird through the mountains

Ever wanted to know what it feels like to fly over an Alpine valley? The Flying Fox XXL in Leogang is one of the longest and fastest ziplines in the world. Take the cable car up, put on your helmet and goggles and settle into the special suit. Ready to go? Race at speeds of up to 130 km/h along the 1,600-metre-long cable. Feel weightless as you look down on the meadows and forests like a bird. The Alpine peaks are even more beautiful when you see them from the air and with the adrenaline rushing through your blood.

3. Practicing winter sports with young winter sports enthusiasts

At the valley station of the Asitzbahn in Leogang is Leo's Kinderland , a winter practice area especially for children. Here, children can improve their winter sports skills in a playful way. Magic carpets take children to the starting points of descents with different levels of difficulty. They can also get used to winter sports in the practice gondola and the practice chairlift. This way, they can later go to the 'real' slopes well prepared.

4. In a winter rollercoaster through the mountains

You probably won't find a roller coaster with better views than Timok's Alpine Coaster in Fieberbrunn. Enjoy panoramic views from the Wilder Kaiser to the Wildseeloder from your cart. Take the cable car to the F1 Streuböden middle station and climb into the two-person cart. You then decide how fast you want to travel the 1,160-kilometre track. On average, you can complete the entire track with a height difference of 115 metres in seven minutes. Hold on tight for the Riesenschlange ('big snake') and the 360° carousel.

5. Down the mountain on your sled

Sledding down the mountains of Fieberbrunn is something different from sledding in the Netherlands. Take the cable car up, get on your wooden sled and hold on tight as you speed down the mountain. There are several sledding courses in the region . The course on the Reiterkogel in Hinterglemm takes you down 3.2 kilometres over 400 metres in altitude. For a race from Spielberghaus at 1,311 metres, the snowcat shuttle takes you through the winter landscape to your starting point. From there, you sled down the three-kilometre-long natural track.

6. Hiking through the mountains with llamas

It's something different than walking the dog, walking a llama. It's possible during a guided llama trekking in Fieberbrunn. Walk with your woolly companions on the paths through the wintery PillerseeTal. Look out over the snow-covered Kitzbühler Alps. In winter you can choose from two route options of one and a half or three hours. Put on your ski clothes and sturdy shoes and don't forget your camera to photograph your photogenic companions in WinterWonderland.

7. Walking across a bridge between snow-capped treetops

During your winter sports holiday, the landscape races past you. Do you want to enjoy the snow-covered trees and mountains in peace? Then take a walk on the Golden Gate & Tree Top Trail in the Saalbach Hinterglemm region. This highest treetop trail in Europe is two kilometres long and lies above fields and forests. Six hundred metres of the trail lies up to thirty metres above the ground between the treetops. The red, 42-metre-high 'Golden Gate' suspension bridge is also a striking highlight of the route.

8. Enjoy winter in a playful way

The Kids Winter Challenge in Saalbach Hinterglemm is an initiative to make winter sports even more fun for the whole family. The challenge consists of six winter events at six stations with checkpoints. The activities for which the young winter sports enthusiasts receive points include tobogganing, visiting a mountain top and walking through the fairytale forest. This makes these child-friendly activities even more fun, especially when they can pick up their medal at the tourist office afterwards.

9. Extra challenging winter sports on the 'fun slopes'

Are you ready for some fun on your skis or snowboard? Visit (one of) the two fun slopes in Saalbach Hinterglemm. For the Funslope Zwölfer, you take the chairlift up, after which you brave fast turns and small jumps. Additional challenges come in the form of snow tunnels, speed boosters and snow waves. The other track, the Funslope U-Bahn, consists of similar challenges and can also be ridden in the dark. Thanks to the floodlights along the track, you can also test your winter sports skills after sunset.
