Due to time difference and excitement, sleeping is impossible when I am in another continent. I woke up my first day at 5am, and it was very exciting to see my place in daylight. I went for a morningrun to see the sea and to discover my home for the week a bit.
Thursday is always drawday in Davis Cup, and I knew the location of the draw. The only problem was how to get there with only a map from the Island, and a bit guts where I had to be. It's all part of the adventure, and I took off around 8.30am with my car to find the location of the draw and to see more of Guadeloupe.
My days in Guadeloupe had one day in common, I think I have driven at least one time wrong every day! Luckily there was nobody around to comment on that, and to critizise me. It was a little bit before 11am when I was at the Memorial Acte, and there were even free spots to park. My excitement grew when I saw people walking around with passes

around their necks, obviously I was on the right place for the draw.
Close to noon arrived both Davis cup teams, under the watchful eyes of many Guadeloupeans. They did a photoshoot first and then entered the building for the draw. I decided to wait outside, because I like to see what happens. During the wait I suddenly got hit hard that my favourite player wasn't there, while I took all the trip far away, and a few tears ran down my face. Luckily I packed myself together in time when the teams came out and a journalist, who I was talking to for a while, made me a picture with Gael Monfils. :) Just for the souvenir, it's nice to have.
I had lunch in the Marina, not far from the Memorial Acte. It's a nice harbour place with lots of restaurants. The rain hit hard and my next mission was to find a place to buy an umbrella. Optimistic as I left
home, I didn't pack an umbrella.... The rest of the afternoon I spent mainly driving, the weather wasn't too good and I wanted to find out how to make it to the Davis Cup venue. It's always good to be a bit prepared. Funny little thing: when I walked to the venue from the parking, one of the drivers of the event stopped and offered me a ride. I've never been in an offical Davis Cup car before! ^^
I didn't stay long but took a few pictures and then headed back. The rain stopped around 5pm and I found a beach to have a drink. It was the small beach of Saint Felix, and there was a nice beachcafé to have a drink before I went back to Sainte-anne. Friday to Sunday was all about tennis and I planned my daily runs before the tennis.
Again it was around 11pm when I went to bed... time differences are so killing!
