So... At last I have sat down to document some of the things that have happened this last week..
Let's start in Munich. Having spent the last night with friends winter arrived just in time for me to be walking on soft fresh snow on my way to the airport.. Snow and airports don't always get along but I was pleasantly surprised that there was no delay in Munich or Madrid.
I spent the first day in Bogota sleeping of my jetlag and trying to understand that my journey has actually begun!

Bogotá, Colombia

On day two, I went on a walking tour. There wasn't many cars downtown but a lot of bicycles! Every Sunday there is something called Ciclovía here in Bogota. Several of the main streets are closed for cars so that cyclists, runners and skateboarders can roam freely in the city. A very cool concept which according to Wikipedia has spread to many other cities and countries.
I enjoyed the tour very much. The guide was nice and spoke English with such a British accent that I was sure that he had spent time in England but he had learned English in Colombia. I was later told that American English is not very popular here. After the tour the guide, two Australians and I went to eat at a Colombian restaurant. I was recommended to try Ajiaco, a kind of soup like dish with 3 kinds of potatoes, chicken, corn, caper, cilantro and other stuff.. Really tasty!!

One of the main tourist attractions here is the "Cerro de Monserate". It is a viewpoint from which you can see all of Bogota and much more. In theory. If there is smog you don't. Up there on the mountain there is also a church which had a service going on when I was there. The way the priest sang sounded more pop-like than in Europe. What you also find up there is strong sun. Bogota is situated at 2600 meters altitude, Cerro Monserate at 3152 meters.. I remember thinking in the airplane that I should probably use sun protection.. Once again, I have proven that thinking is not always enough. By the time I actually put on some sun protection I had already burnt my neck and face. Not too bad though..

Speaking of sun.. This week has been very hot for Bogotan conditions.. Many locals have been complaining about the HEAT!! But the tourists, me included, found the weather perfect! It's warm but not too warm, like 25 degrees.
