France is like New Zealand. It is stunningly beautiful , if you know where to look.

The village of Collonges-la-Rouge is named after the red bricks and

stone used to construct the buildings in the village. You will find it near the middle of France, in the Limousin region. It is a little off the beaten track, so if you hate crowds, it is a great place to go.

But it is not just the old buildings which appeal.

Take a look at the open air market in Brive. What a wonderful mix of engineering , practicality, and beauty. In May, that will be us in the photo.
