Couchpotatoes return to Bali

We had spent two nights in Bali already, but hadn't been to the beach yet. What?! Yep. You read that right. We stayed less than a kilometer away from the beach but never made it to the waters just yet. Monsoons and sheer laziness being our excuses.

To give you some context, our last beach in Bali was Padang Padang beach near Uluwatu. Padang Padang was like a middle aged dad who has seen it all from tantrums, mischief and ludicrous childishness from his cubs. Then we met Echo. Echo beach was a lovely contradiction to the paternal Padang Padang. It was truly a magnanimous sight with loud and frothy waves. The waves with the energy, playfulness, charm and roughness you would expect from youth.

Chapter 4: The young and arrogant Echo!

Echo beach, Bali

We rented beach loungers from a shack on the beach side and ordered yummy cocktails with blue curacao to stick with the theme. After a few idle minutes on the lounger to work up a buzz, I stepped off on to the black sand, barefoot, ready to take on Echo head to head. Oh boy, was it an unfair fight. He was like an arrogant young man who gives you a playful but powerful punch to your gut when he gets tired of your sass. I should know, I got punched around a fair bit while on a bout of solitary frolicking. Ruvi joined a while later and we had the time of our lives facing the waves holding hands, sitting down, falling down and laughing like crackpots when it knocked us down on our asses. One of the happiest moments of my life. :)
