Family Time in Budapest and Italy

While Ken and I have had some great adventures on our own and a few with others, this is a special trip as we will be able to spend it with some of our family.

The first few days we will enjoy the beautiful city of Budapest Hungary, where Paige, Ken's daughter and her boyfriend Chris live. Joining us from Lancaster PA is Ken's dad Don, who is excited to see both Paige and Chris, as well as Budapest. The second part will be spent in Italy, where my two daughters, Ashley (Houston) and Katelyn (Milwaukee), along with Katelyn's husband Shaun will join us. We will miss Paige and Chris is Italy, but it is great to be able to spend time with them at the beginning.

Ken and I flew Condor Air from Seattle to Frankfurt, then on Lufthansa to Budapest. We had sprung for Premium Economy, which provided a bit more leg room, free food and drinks, plus a little amenities kit. We had never been on Condor, and the service, food and experience were fine. Nothing outstanding, but rarely is any 10.5 hour flight in the back exceptional. Ken was able to sleep for about 4 hours, while me...not so much. I did get to watch a couple of good movies and oh, about 8 episodes of the Big Bang Theory, so my time was well spent. :)

After 2.5 hours in Frankfurt, we arrived in Budapest about 615p to sunny skies. Don (Ken's dad) had arrived that morning and had already checked into our AirBnb, had a nap, found the gelato and had wine with Paige. Busy guy! Like many apartments in Budapest, the outside of ours looked old and yet, when you enter it is very modern and nice. It has two beds, kitchen and bathroom...so perfect for the three of us. Paige and Don met us at the door and we dumped our bags and went to find dinner. After a bit of wandering and enjoying the walk, we ended up back at Zellar, which was just down from the apartment. Paige had headed home, while Ken, Don and I sat outside, had
