We arrived from every direction of the compass. Curt Paul traveled by DFDS ferry overnight from Oslo arriving at 930 am, Gloria, Judy and I arrived from Winnipeg via Toronto at 10:30 am, Kim arrived from JFK via Helsinki at 12:45 pm and Jude F arrived from Winnipeg via Toronto and Reykjavik at 9:15 pm. Although the rental car couldn't handle 6 people and luggage, with the varied arrivals everything worked out fine and Otto Liebees Alle 18 was home for 3 nights.

On the 24th, everyone including Curt Paul started the day gradually, most catching up on the time change. It was a cool, windy, drizzly day but undaunted we headed downtown to see the changing of the guard at Amalienborg Palace, visit the little Mermaid then drive into the suburbs to see the house that we rented in Albertslund in 1978.
We returned downtown for a delicious lunch, wandered the Stroget (Walking Street) where Gloria bought fabulous pastries. For not understanding the system, we got a $100 parking ticket.
We visited Hotel Scandinavia Copenhagen. The hotel looks good but the rooftop restaurant is closed, lobby restaurants are completely changed and the lobby shops are decidedly downscale. A casino attached to the hotel provides a lifesaving source of additional revenue. The concierge comped our parking for old times.
