Today was the day I got to travel to one of mankind's greatest architectural feat. The sun was beaming down hard while the sand seemed to roast the sole of my shoe as my tour group approached the pyramids. My first thought was the massive geometric symmetry of the structures while the pyramidal shape was rather impressive. My back was drenched in sweat by the time we got off the boat and laid eyes on the great sphinx. This massive monument had obviously been eroded for years on end while many chunks had been vandalized. After noticing the anthropomorphic figure, the pyramids only continued to capture my attention. My tour group only get close to Khufu's pyramid and even a quick look inside the tomb. The quick peep was a mere look into the frontal tunnel, but the low oxygen prevented us from entering further. The air was extremely dry throughout the entire tour, but the sight of the Pyramids was enough to make up for it. After the pyramids, the tour group went to a view impressive temples such as that of Amun-Re and Hatsheput which we entered for an hour. Both temples included sunken relief, clerestories, and hundreds of columns which were to represent the papyrus along the Nile. Over all, the trip was very interesting and including many interesting stories of the culture and history of one of man kind's original civilizations.
