Day 65
The dream is closing in. I took the train to Kyoto today and when I arrived I met up with Lynus to go get some photos of the nearby area. Jon was still hungover and had to sleep the entire day so we left without him and found some amazing spots. Some of the Cherry trees are already starting but they are few and far between. We came back to my hostel at about 19:00 and I am so exhausted that I am going straight to sleep. Tomorrow will be a full day of photography and sightseeing which I am looking forward to a lot!
Day 66
All of my friends wake up way to late. Today I left the hostel at 09:00, had coffee, edited some pictures, walked around the station and looked for some place to have lunch. When it was about 11:30 I asked Lynus when he was ready and the response was 13:00. I made the best out of the time I had outside the hostel and went to

Day 66
All of my friends wake up way to late. Today I left the hostel at 09:00, had coffee, edited some pictures, walked around the station and looked for some place to have lunch. When it was about 11:30 I asked Lynus when he was ready and the response was 13:00. I made the best out of the time I had outside the hostel and went to
see the south part of Kyoto. When he finally arrived We went on the bus to go to Arashiyama and see the Bamboo forest.
We started with walking down the river on the wrong side, it was very nice even though we had to walk all the way back after realizing it. When we reached the other side we followed the stream of visitors and that took us straight to the bamboo forest. A bit crowded, but I understand why its popular. The "grass" is pretty huge and it creates a very dense and cool atmosphere. Total time spent here was about two hours and when we left we got yet another surprise on the train.
In japan the front of the trains are fully clear and windowed, so you can see where you are going while the train is moving. As I never saw this before, I was pretty happy for this small detail. Seeing the tracks was very nice and I now understand the charm of being a train driver.
After dinner I'm going to go out for beer and party!
Day 67
After waking up (completely fine due to the seven eleven liver drink), I walked to Fushimi Inari Taisha. This is a famous mountain, said to have fox-spirits roaming around the temples, and it's also the place with more Torii-gates than any other place in Japan. I spent more than 3 hours walking up and down the mountain through the different paths and eventually I had seen everything. My plan was to head down to one of the castles after this, however there where so many people that I was simply "Knackered". I went back to the hostel, got some lunch and went for a nap. For dinner I found a place that offered gluten free hamburgers. I haven't seen this for more than two months so I ate the f*k out of that burger. I was glad to pay 1500 yen for that dinner, so glad that I might even go back before leaving
Kyoto.
Day 68
I have now spent about 8 hours total looking for the jacket in Kyoto as well. Today wasn't very interesting. I am a bit to tired to go out and do more stuff in Kyoto, and since I am returning to Osaka tomorrow, I am close enough to go here again if I where to change my mind! Tonight will be a dinner close to the hostel and early sleep.
