As we left Sarita's home it felt like I had already lived a life time. My entire perspective of Faridabad and Delhi had been turned upside down and I had fallen in love with the smiles I found on the streets and the all the adventures with Sarita, I found comfort and safety where I once saw fear and unknown.
There were about 20 of us living in that house and now 10 were traveling North to the Tibetan colony.
Nuala, Selina, and Erin, a sweetheart from Boston, were among those traveling North and we became a tight group. We knew three things about where we were going. One, the weather would be much cooler than Delhi. Two, we would not be split up and we were going all staying in one home. Three, we would have a driver waiting for us when we arrived to take us to our new home.
12 hours later we were half asleep and the monsoon rain was pouring down we heard some say, "IVHQ?" The ten of us were groggy but managed to say yeh that's us and we began to get our things together to exit the bus. As we approached the front of the bus it started to move again. We were standing in the aisle wondering what the heck was happening. We didn't bother asking for any explanation and we kinda just figured whatever happens would be fine. The bus finally stopped again and the people calling out IVHQ were there waiting, but so was the monsoon rain. This was the start of monsoon season. We huddled under a random overhang and one by one attempted to get our packs from under the bus and put them in the taxis.
