While I was in North Wales, I took a small detour to the small market town of Llanrwst. The main attraction of this small town is a historic tearoom covered in the leaves of Virginia creeper: Tu Hwnt I'r Bont.

The charming tearoom of Tu Hwnt I'r Bont offers a very charming view when the leaves turn red. This happens in autumn only in a very short window of time. The peak of the red colour transformation usually falls on late September to early October.

An interesting fact is that it is unusual for the leaves of Virginia creeper to turn red. It is due to the minerals from the river that the leaves turn into a lovely ruby colour in autumn.
