Well, when I come to work with the another cities, I try to know the city what I can.
Ciudad Cayalá is a mall district that I visit to work here, and I love how they use the Colonial Architecture Style to be a neo-urbanist city within the city of Guatemala. The concept of this city is to avoid the use of automobiles, to have everything close, shops, offices, workplace, church.
The architect of this is Leon Krier, his concepts are idealistic and little applicable to Latin American culture. It states that buildings should not be more than 4 levels so that neighbors feel guarded and there is less insecurity, which is not true Nimajuyu is an apartment complex located in area 21 of this city with more than 25 years, created with The same business concepts nearby, green areas and games no more than 4 levels and today is one of the most dangerous places.
But in my personal opinion... I said the same that LeCorbusier says: "Architecture should be an expression of our time and not a plagiarism of past cultures"
