We set off from Sydney in a minibus driven by our guide for the day, Steve, firing information and history at us with the odd rehearsed joke thrown in. After a predictable snooze on the minibus, we arrived at the first vineyard at around 10:30. I wondered whether my body would be ready for wine at this time… The first sip told me that it was! We were given about 6 different wines to try and even a taster of chocolate mud cake to accompany one of the wines. They then showed us the winery where it is all made – basically a science lab in a garage, appealing to Matt’s geeky side. Over the course of the day we went to three different vineyards for tasting sessions and also visited the ‘Smelly Cheese Company’. The scenery was amazing. It felt like we had been dropped off in Bordeaux or Tuscany. After a day of sniffing,

After a predictable snooze on the minibus, we arrived at the first vineyard at around 10:30. I wondered whether my body would be ready for wine at this time… The first sip told me that it was! swirling and slurping wine, we headed back to Sydney on the minibus and this time it wasn’t just me snoring away. A good day well spent!
