The Colossus of Constantine currently resides at the Museo Capitolini and it once stood at the Basilica Maxentius. It stood around 40 feet tall and was thought to be decorated in gilded bronze. This statue shows Constantine in a way that gods were represented but it is thought that it was intended to represent the Christian diety. This statue of Constantine is important because Constantine was a very important person in the rise of Christianity in Rome. He made it legal to be a Christian and in fact he was the first Christian emperor of Rome.
