So a quick turnaround and we are away for a few sights of Delhi with our guide Saurabh Tiwari. We set off on the minibus to be dropped by the spice market, it quickly becomes obvious that the traffic is even more mad than usual. After a short while Saurabh decides we need to hop out and walk through a huge market to where we can get some rickshaws to transport us on a short tour. The rickshaws were a proper experience, weaving in and out of the traffic seeking Delhi from another perspective, Despite the signs warning people not to honk their horns there was a cacophony of noise, it became evident it was mostly honks of gratitude!
After a zip through the market we hopped back in the minibus heading for Humayun's Tomb.
This is a spectacular ‘Taj’ style building, red and white with wonderful gardens. Saurabh insisted on telling us ‘just one more thing’ at least ten times and we were exhausted and fragile from our journey, afterwards we could laugh about this but not whilst we were hungry and tired! We headed for a very nice curry and Kingfisher lager/Lassi and much needed ‘Cola’! We were all ready for bed very soon after this, dreaming of a nice hot shower and a comfy bed! The early mornings and early nights being a big feature of the trip!
