The Laocoon is a statue that was rediscovered in the fifteen hundreds. The statue depicts a man and two small boys being attacked by serpents. This is a priest and his two sons. The story goes that Laocoon was a priest who warned the people of Troy not to accept the Trojan horse. The Greek gods were angry and Poseidon sent two sea serpents to kill the priest and his sons. This statue is beautiful, the terror is evident on the faces of all three people. Every muscle in Laocoon's body are flexed in order to fight off these serpents. This was one of my favorite pieces that I saw on this trip.
