Apartment Hunting

Las Palmas, 05/09/2017

Round one of apartment hunting with Soledad and her partner Joaquin.
Both of them are delightful. She is local and he is originally from London, but came here and met the love of his life and never went back.

They certainly know their business, they had four completely different properties for me to look at. One was an old town flat in the city that was charming, one was a huge apartment is a new high rise on the harbor side that was all done in white and black leathers, one was a brand new small apartment at the beach at Las Canteras, lastly was a huge older high rise that overlooked the city lights.

Anyone of them would have sufficed, but the small new apartment at the beach grabbed me. It was the only one where I met the owner and it has great energy. It immediately felt like a place that will feel like home after coming back from a fifteen day rotation. The picture below was taken from the living room window. I can walk out grab a coffee and sit or walk along the promenade watching the surfers. It is on the "local" side of Las Canteras, not the touristy side and the neighborhood is quiet yet everything is in walking distance. I move in June 1st when I get back from Nouakchott.
