Broadfeet across America

Ten hours sleep in a king-size bed in a luxury basement was just fantastic. We slept till 9am after getting home, showering and getting to bed at 11pm. But a great night none-the-less. We had a lovely breakfast of fresh bagels -> we finally found something other than pancakes, for Hayley, a tin of salmon that "tastes just like home" with a toasted bagel.

Off into Boulder for a look of the city. We stopped in at the mall and walked up and down, stopping to peak in some expensive shops and watch the street theatre entertainment. We found a great coffee and hot chocolate shop; Woody Creek Bakery & Cafe which was where we ended up for lunch.

We watched a street theatre performer who climbed a pole (held by harnessed ropes by four volunteer makes from the crowd). He was very strong and highly entertaining. We also found ourselves in the middle of a protest march which happened to be in relation to a 12yr old boy being shot by police. It was an eye-opener for the girls and an experience for us all.

After a 2pm lunch, we purchased some postcards and headed to Flatirons which is a section of Boulder Park (in the mountains) famous for hiking and trail rides. Cold and picturesque, however, you have to have a permit to park so we didn't stay long, just long enough to take some photos and be impressed by the sheer size of the city of Boulder. Did I say it was cold ..... I had gloves and a beanie and was still a little nippy.

Back to the Sanchez ranch and the kids are outside playing hide-and-go-seek and yes it's cold but it doesn't seem to bother them. Danny, Beth and Peter are heading to a function with Jason (Danny's assistant coach) while I stay at home with a niggling sniffle. Nothing a little panadol, a quiet night and a sleep won't help to fix. Miranda and Hayley have met the neighbours and are having a great time playing. The backyard (like the Belzer family) are all connected, without fences and the kids all share trampolines, basketball hoops and soccer nets. It's a very family orientated housing environment.
