Culture is reflected through the landscapes created and preserved. In order to fully understand Rome and what the Romans value, it is crucial to observe what is revealed through cultural landscapes, such as art, memorials, monuments, sculptures, and architecture. Rome serves as a hearth of cultural influence, political ideology, and historic interpretation. Much of modern society hinges on ideals created during the Roman Empire. Through studying the cultural landscapes of Rome, scholars are able to receive a glimpse into what virtues Romans valued during the Roman Empire by understanding the impact and influence of religion, political power and militaristic strength. Through reading and understanding the following artifacts it will be revealed that the Romans cared deeply about their reputation and their perception of power hence why the cultural landscape of the Roman Empire is studied over 2000 years later.
