A "Standard" Weekend

08.29.2016

I was thinking about what to write about the past couple of days and thinking that they had been pretty standard, not much to report. Then I realized how crazy and lucky it is that the past few days have been tagged as "standard" by my brain.
On Friday, I went on a beautiful exploration run that took me across a little over 9 miles and up a little over 1000 ft. of elevation. Over the course of the run I saw a fox running through the forest and hit upon a patch of perfectly ripe raspberries in the middle of a long hill.
On Saturday, the University put on this event called "Studentslippet" where we all got free admission to a lot of attractions around Oslo and discounts at a lot of restaurants. After picking some apples from

a tree near the student center, some friends and I ventured down to a vegan cafe, which was absolutely delightful and then went to the historical/cultural museum, where we saw all sorts of viking artifacts.
My main activity on Sunday was a 4 hour long wander through the woods that included so much blueberry picking that my mouth and fingers were stained blue by the time it was over. Also on Sunday, a group of friends and I worked on planning some trips together, its looking like we'll be going to Copenhagen and Jotunheimen in October!
