Jordan and Egypt

Sylvia and Mark gave me a ride to the airport. Easy check-in as I was the only one in line. Took a while as he carefully worked his way through my papers and down the requirements to enter Jordan and checked each one off. He said he has had to refuse boarding passes for people who had the COVID test done too early, even by an hour. How sad that would be. My new bigger suitcase weighed in at 39 pounds so I didn’t overpack too much. Madison airport pretty quiet. Flight to O’Hare leaves at 10:45. Sunny day.

Full flight with many students on the plane. Got to O’Hare at noon and trekked from gate Fsomething to B17. Hallways between terminals showcase Chicago. Restaurants all along the way were full, but B17 is at the end of a long corridor and there was a small Starbucks there. Coffee at last. Four+ hour layover here with noisy construction nearby. I downloaded ebooks from the library while sitting here so if I run out of magazines I will be OK. Next flight is Lufthansa to Frankfurt, leaving at 4:10 and arriving at 7:25 am though there is a seven hour time difference between so the flight is really only a little over eight hours.

Smooth flight to Frankfurt. Seat next to me was empty. Pasta in Alfredo sauce, salad, dessert for dinner. Watched two movies — the Washington Heights was one I had wanted to see. Fruit and coffee before landing at 7:15 am here, just after midnight at home.
