Took a short walk this morning. Weather in Jordan has been perfect — 70s during the day, 50s at night. Our bus left at 8:30 for the three hour drive to Amman airport. Luggage has been checked in, we got through passport and COVID test check and are in spacious waiting room ready for the 2:35 flight to Cairo.

We landed in Cairo about 4:15 pm, unfortunately right after four huge 747s landed. We had to wait in line at six different stations, finally getting to the luggage around 6:00 pm. Just as we were about to go outside to the bus, the tourist police decided we needed an escort to the hotel. So we sat and sat and finally were sent on our way. Got to the Marriott about 7:30 - a long day of sitting. However my room is great with a balcony even. I found my way to a small supermarket for Diet Coke so am skipping a late dinner.
