The Surf Sabbatical

Once again, we tried to get up at 5:30 for an early session but couldn’t swing it. Its hard to resist the sweet temptation of a cozy bed after nights spent sleeping in the roof nest. We finally got in the water by 8 and I gradually made my way to a better takeoff point, cleaning up all the sloppy seconds on the inside. Finally caught one wave, then two then three and so on. My pop up still needs work but I was surfing backside and even managed to get in a little turn. All in all, it was a much better session. Post surf we cruised back to the Airbnb for some showers and work, then later on headed to a restaurant Sepp recommended, The Shadowbrook for some good cocktails and an ahi tuna poke appetizer. We later cruised to a very white washed taqueria only to then go to San Marcos Charquitos (which our Airbnb host recommended) for killer al pastor tacos and a quesadilla. A day well spent.
