The Surf Sabbatical

After a 15 hour snooze (yes…15 hours) Niko and I felt incredibly refreshed to start our first full day in Portugal. The day before, we had decided to rent a scooter to better navigate the area, get some groceries and explore a little. Renting a scooter turned out to be a great decision. We bought enough groceries for breakfast and lunch the next couple of days, spent some time at beaches a little further out from our Airbnb, and explored the old town of Aljezur a little bit. We ended the day with a little Indonesian food nearby, a couple of 2 euro drinks and a nice stroll home. It was a beautiful first day. So beautiful, in fact, that Niko asked me what it would take to become a Portuguese resident. Yeah, that kind of day.
