Vila Nova de Milfontes...continued

Niko and I were able to get in to the best restaurant in Milfontes for lunch on Thursday and it absolutely lived up to its name. We had the most phenomenal food we've both had in a long time: mushrooms and sweet potatoes to start, fresh grilled bass for me, dorado for Niko, grilled vegetables on the side, several glasses of wine each, coffee and an acorn digestif to finish it off. The surf sabbatical is looking a little more like the stuff our faces sabbatical, but that's okay..we'll work it off at some point...right (nervous laughing)?

It is our last day in Milfontes before we head to Lisbon to meet up with Aymen for the night, then on to Sintra, Coimbra and then Porto. We've had a nice, very relaxing time in this little town, but have been a little bummed on the lack of surfing. We're both very much looking forward to surfing more after Porto, having booked a rental car and several hostels along the north coast of Spain in Galicia, Cantabria and Asturias, before heading into

Basque country. It looks like we'll get our fill of surfing then so we're trying to revel in the slowness of the trip so far. We're in it for the long haul so we have to remind ourselves that not every day needs to be epic.
