Day 30 - Sleepless In Seattle

Issaquah, WA, 07.30.2017

Had another great night sleeping at camp in Issaquah, WA, near Seattle. Must be that cooler ocean-chilled air that makes for comfortable zzz’s.

Hooked up for brunch with our niece Molly and her four-year old daughter, June --- a real sweetheart. Molly suggested the restaurant: the Newcastle Golf Club, in the hills east of Seattle. Great view, great food and tremendous specialty drinks. We don’t usually imbibe that early in the day, but hey, it was Sunday brunch on a patio overlooking the city of Seattle in the distance on a perfect, sunny

70-degree day. Pat chose the Newcastle Sunrise (Bacardi Rum, Malibu Coconut Rum, Peach Schnapps, splash of orange, pineapple and cranberry juice served over ice). Molly and Tim chose the Queen Mary (Bloody Mary with cherry pepper, cocktail onion, asparagus and blue cheese stuffed olive accompanied by a 4-oz. beer chaser of your choice). Can't remember what we ordered for food, but it was good. The views from this golf club, with its 18 holes cut into the hills around the clubhouse up top, were spectacular.

Molly had us over to her condo complete with pool, hot pool (June’s name for the hot tub) and a lakefront view. Her friendly neighbor, Michele, generously took us out for a spin around the lake in her boat as a favor to Molly, so we were able to view the homes along the shoreline of this 2 by 8-mile lake. It’s likely that almost every lake property is at least worth a million bucks with several in double digit millions, some with helicopters, seaplanes. With growth companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Costco, Boeing, etc., the area real estate is booming. This was not anything like boating on the Mon.
