Day 58 - Bad Karma

Manitou Springs, Colorado, 08.27.2017

We went back into Manitou Springs, CO for breakfast at Good Karma, a restaurant that came very highly recommended on TripAdvisor. We would say Bad Karma, due to lousy food and worse service, which no one needs details on. The only benefit was watching hippie patrons dining there as if it were 1965 all over again. Kinda funny.

Drove up to the Air Force Academy to take a self-guided tour. Beautiful, wide open campus with gleaming, modern architecture, topped of by a chapel in the center of the grounds with soaring aluminum arches. It was quiet because the fall session hadn’t yet started. The movie at the visitors’ center was a good representation of a 4th class, first year freshman’s life at the academy. The center itself was superb and offered us a good look at the history and mission of the USAF. Well done!

Back at camp, we tried grilling a pizza for the first time on our Homping grill. While a little overcooked, it was fabulous. Say goodbye to Dominos.

Tomorrow’s the last day before heading back east. We’ll be visiting Garden of the Gods and then packing it in.
