Day 60-66 -The Journey is its Own Reward - Homer

On our way home!, 09.04.2017

Why not use Homer for the final journal entry? From Colorado, the trip home took us through Kansas wheat fields, Kentucky coal towns and a weekend stop at Winston-Salem for a visit with Pat’s brother Terry and his wife Carole (great hosts as always!). It was in NC that we said goodbye to Silvie the Airstream, our traveling companion, as we placed her in storage for the winter. We’ll pick her up again in February when we head south to Florida. Finally, we travelled home to Pittsburgh, tallying 10,500 miles since leaving July 1.

It’s hard to describe how awesome this trip was for us. The pictures are the best we can do at this point. There’s little more beautiful than the natural landscape we’ve seen.

Mark Twain once remarked: Man was made at the end of a week’s work, when God was tired.

Amen.
