Day 3 Lots of Corn!

Sioux Falls, SD, 07.03.2017

We left New Lisbon, Wisconsin early this morning. As we were leaving we spied a lion on the side of the road! It brought to mind little Kevin all dressed up with his bowtie drinking out of a fountain just like this one. Can't remember where that picture was taken ... Zelienople? Do you remember Kev?

We hit 1,000 miles today traveling through the rest of Wisconsin, Minnesota to the KOA we're staying at in South Dakota.

Most of the ride was flat and the scenery was mile after mile of corn fields as far as the eye could see. This is serious farm territory. We learned that Minnesota is ranked 4th in the country for corn production.

The most beautiful part of the drive was the La Crosse area in Wisconsin right before crossing the Mississippi. It was rolling and green. Reminded us of home. The Mississippi was huge - impressive.

Tonight will be all about resting up for the start of the real reason for the trip...tomorrow we'll be at the first National Park!

Stayed at: Spaders KOA. Right on highway ... average but clean.
