Holy Cannoli

Venice, 05.31.2017

Leaving Florence for Venice. Was not that excited for Venice but Katelyn was. We booked at a hostel campground to stay in a 2 person tent. Was a little unsure how that would work but it is great. Not too hot at nights yet. Arrived and got our tent. Very strange place this campground. Kind of crowded and lots of tourists. Not really enough support structure to handle all the people. Plug ins and wifi are not the best, but it can’t all be perfect. The location is awesome and the price is right! Immediately bused to Venice. Spent 5 incredible hours walking the narrow streets and alleys of this magnificent place. Wow is the best I can come up with. This place is fantastic. You can get a couple of blocks off the tourist track and it is

quiet and serene. No noise because of no cars. Perfect! Everything we have done so far in Venice was easy and fun. Tried my first cannoli and think I need one or two a day. Venice is a cannoli! Tasty, sweet, and leaving you wanting more. We found a nice cafe and sat watching the square with the Italian daily life. Had an awesome caprese salad for supper which was a nice change from the pizza and pasta. Katelyn found melon gelato which is her new favorite. My oldest Amalia found that melon gelato was to die for when she was here years ago. After one day in Venice, I would definitely return to see it again. So good!
