The Journey Home Begins

Bangkok Airport, 11.12.2016

11th November I had to catch a flight back up to BKK in order to catch my return flight home on the 12th. I was obviously sad to be leaving Thailand, however unfortunately I am not on gap year, nor am i rich or from a wealthy family so unfortunately I had to return back home in order to get back to work.

Nothing to mention about my last night in BKK as it was simply a stop over. I had a massage for a bargain 150 bht which is about £3 for an hours massage!
My hotel had robots, but that was about as exciting as this day got.

My flight home however.......
I was sat next to a couple who were, for want of a better word, a tad on the rough side shall we say! Anyway, I got chatting to them as you do on flights and it seems this chap next to me was expecting to talk for the entire 12 hour flight. Fat chance mate!!
After a movie or two I tried to sleep but clearly was not tired, so this gent next to me offered me a pill. He promised me it wasn't very strong and so I popped one of his sleeping pills with a glass of vino and......
Nothing.

Still wide eyed and awake.
His wife then gave me a Valium....

Damn those things work!
Within 20 minutes I was out like a light and was out cold for several hours. Amazing things are Valium! Big Fan!

Unfortunately she had given one to her husband too but he hadn't slept - just stayed up drinking. By the time I came-to he was off his damn face!! The air stewards started to refuse him service which only angered him, so then he started to kick off. Bearing in mind this guy had been drinking for several hours and had taken two pills (that I know of) it was safe to say he was not with it at all. Slurring is not even the word!

So my flight home was an experience to say the least!

And here I am again.
Back in Blighty, it's cold, dark and I swear my tan is retreating, but I

do have enough memories to last me a life time and have learnt a lot.
Safe to say, this was (for me) a holiday of a life time and a real personal mountain that I have climbed.

Things I have learned while away:

1 - The thought and fear of doing something is often not as bad as the reality, so quit thinking or whining and just do it already!
2 - Just say yes and smile. Amazing things will happen when you just say YES!!
3 - I love traveling solo and am completely converted. No more shitty holidays in Gran Canaria with random work acquaintances for me! Hell no. The solo life it is from now on!
4 - I love activity holidays - this is the way forward! No more 2 week beach holidays - i'm getting my Adrenalin junkie on!
5 - I waste money. The fact that I paid for this trip without batting an eyelid suggests I blow money in daily life on junk I don't need. Time to tighten my belt, buy only essentials and save up for a house or awesome trips around the world.
6 - I appreciate my life. Seeing poverty and meeting new people outside of my circles has opened my eyes. I am truly blessed.
I may not be wealthy by London / English standards, but i am rich when you compare to poor countries like Thailand. So never take your life for granted. It's not a bad life at all....Just stop comparing and LIVE.
7 - I am a nice person. I have known this for some time now, but hearing peoples stories and seeing their reactions to me was gold. I like who I am and am very proud of who I am and what I have achieved.
8 - I am torn by my desire to travel and my desire to settle. I loved traveling and if i had the money I would pack a bag now. I also know I want to buy a house and make a homely life for myself - get the man, have a few kids... But that will come.
In the mean time, i'll start saving for a house, go on solo trips to breath taking locations and hope i find my future husband along the way...
9- The world is huge. There is so much to do and see and I want to see and do it all!
10 - I am going to actively write a bucket list and strive to tick it all. This trip ticked two - solo traveling and riding an elephant.

I will post all my hotels and day trips on here soon for you all to see.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

To all my friends and family and the randoms I have met a long the way, I wish you all love, health, prosperity and happiness xxxxx
