Day 70: Hello Sydney!!

Sydney, 10.20.2019

Early departure again today at 7.30am. Today was our last day of the Topdeck tour with Blake and Porsha and we had one last activity to tick off our itinerary, wine tasting! We did this in Hunter Valley which was such a beautiful area. The weather was really good which made the valleys of vineyards so picturesque! On arriving at the vineyard, we first did some grape stomping, which was actually a lot harder than it looks! It was also so so cold on your feet and felt really weird. We then collected the liquid, strained it and then poured it into a wine bottle. For the wine tasting, we tried a wide range of wines including red, white, rose, moscato and dessert wines. I definitely preferred the dryer wines to the sweet ones! One of them literally tasted like pure honey and tasted awful! We were a bit tipsy after that so we fed our munchies at the restaurant next door where we had hot meat pies and chips. Tessa bought me and Sinead a bottle of the moscato that we had tried which was very kind of her. She wanted to thank us for looking after her and helping her improve her English.

We continued our bus journey and arrived in Sydney around 5pm where we said our goodbyes to the Topdeck family! Here I checked into Wake Up hostel, where I had a 6 bed female dorm. In the evening I met Sam Rogers and his girlfriend Ellie for a drink at the hostel bar. It was great to catch up with them and to hear about their time in Australia so far!
