Day 82: Melbourne Star failure

Frankston, 11.01.2019

Today we headed to Frankston, near to where Sam used to go to school. First thing we did was head into town to find some breakfast. We found a shopping centre where we had warm muffins and hot drinks which was so good! We went for a walk by the sea and along Frankston pier before settling on the beach for the afternoon. We were very careful going into the sea given that we’d spotted a few dead jellyfish that had been washed up on the beach and they were massive! Before heading home we stopped at Subway for some lunch. In the evening we headed into the city. It was a lovely warm evening so we had dinner outside on Hardware Street at a lovely restaurant where there was live musicians playing. We both had steak with vegetables and mashed potatoes along with a glass wine. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal with Sam. After dinner, we went for a walk around the city. I also stopped at McDonald’s for a chocolate milkshake, how classy of me! Next, the plan was to drive to the Melbourne Star, a huge observation wheel which gives you a great view of the city. However, after parking up and walking to the ticket office, we were gutted to find out that it had just closed 10 mins prior to our arrival. Sam was gutted, as was I, but we managed to have a good laugh at ourselves afterwards. We drove home singing along to Taylor Swift songs, Sams suggestion not mine!
