Day 5: Floating Markets

Damnoen Saduak, 08.16.2019

Today was an early 6:30am start to head off on a tour that we booked with the hotel. The tour included a visit to a coconut farm, where we learnt how coconut sugar is made in Thailand. Next up was the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market! This was such a fantastic experience. We floated along the narrow canals in a paddle boat and passed the many merchants on the water who were selling all-sorts! The majority of the floating vendors were selling food, with many even cooking dishes on their tiny boats!! I bought some mango sticky rice (my new favourite!) and Hermione bought a bunch of mini bananas. On the way back to Bangkok we visited a temple which

stood beneath a large tree. People visit the temple to place gold leaves on the Buddha which is supposed to give them good luck.
Back in Bangkok, we had some lunch, fried rice and papaya salad and then Hermione had a Royal Thai Massage, an experience she will never forget! Back to the room to pack up our bags. We are having an early night because tomorrow we fly to Koh Samui at 6am! Bangkok, you have been amazing!

A Trip of a Lifetime!
