Day 67: Chilled byron vibes

Byron Bay, 10.17.2019

We left Brisbane around 10am, this was a lie in for us and I thoroughly enjoyed it! After breakfast we were on the road and our first stop was an Aboriginal Museum. I have to say this was a very odd experience however we all went along with it, learning how their tribes operated and how they hunted animals with their hand crafted tools. One of the activities was message stick painting, which I couldn’t quite take seriously because the stick looked like something very familiar! After the museum we drove on to the Gold Coast where we stopped for a few hours. This was Porsha’s hometown so she was excited to show us. Sinead and I went to Surfers’ Paradise beach to sunbathe and then grabbed some sushi to have for lunch on the bus. I really liked the Gold Coast, the big high rise buildings along the coast looked so cool!
We were then back on the road to our final destination of the day, Byron Bay which was Blake’s home town. We stayed at Glen Villas, a glorified campsite which I loved, probably one of my favourite accommodations. Sinead, Tessa and I got a villa to ourself with a big lounge and dining area so we offered to cook dinner for everyone. We made tomato pasta with loads of garlic bread and it was so yummy! We then had pres at our house which lasted a lot longer than expected, so much so that Dave got annoyed with us all for not meeting in town earlier. Went on a night out to a club called Cheeky Monkey which was a lot of fun, we pretty much danced all night!

A Trip of a Lifetime!
