Day 32: Cambodia!

Today we leave Loas and head to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. We got a flight around midday and landed an hour later. We headed straight to the Killing Fields to learn all about the mass genocide that only happened 40 years ago here in Cambodia. 3m people died during this time which meant for most families, a least one generation was completely wiped out. Next we visited S21, where they tortured the victims before they were sent to the killing fields. This was a really saddening experience, especially hearing from one of the 7 survivors. I bought his book in order to learn about the dreadful experience he had during this period in history. We headed back to the hotel where we watched the sunset from the rooftop bar. Dinner was at Friends Restaurant, a yummy tapas place! Eb ordered us spiders for dessert, something I refused to try!!
