Day 81: THE FARM!

Frankston, 10.31.2019

The next place on Sam’s tour of Melbourne itinerary was Philip Island. We were blessed with another day of great weather so we headed off in good time to drive further west of Melbourne to the island. We parked up and had a wonder around the town hunting for some breakfast as we were starving. Sam was determined to find a smoothie place and after walking around we finally found one. I had a breakfast berry smoothie and Sam had a cookies and banana one, which I don’t think he enjoyed very much. We also got a naughty treat, a caramel slice and a raspberry ganache. Again we had another day chilling on yet another beautiful sunny beach. We laughed about how much time we had spent lying down on beaches while I had been in Melbourne. Unfortunately Sam started to feel ill on the beach and he figured out that it must have been a type of nut in the treats we had earlier, which he’s allergic to. We thought it would be best to head home in the early afternoon with him not feeling so well. But before we did, I had some sushi for lunch and we both had a treat from the local bakery. When we got home, Sam began feeling a lot better and suggested that he finally take me to see his farm. It was still so hot in the day, so I put on a pair of denim shorts and off we went! I was so excited to see the farm. Right from the off in Thailand he had told me about it, about his dream house that he planned to build there and I had seen so many pictures over the past couple of months. We hopped on a quad hike and shared the seat to tour around the farm in the sunshine. Sam held onto me as we went over the bumpy bits. I’ll never forget how he stood looking at view while I hugged him from behind. A tear rolled down my face as I watched the sun set over the farm. I felt so proud of him, for his hard work and perseverance to reach the dream that he’d had for so long. Sam let me have a go on one of his excavators, a 20 tonne one to be precise. I sat on his knee and he showed me how to operate the controls, it was so much fun! Tonight we headed down to Sams local, the Central for dinner. We bother had a spicy chicken burger, which, was definitely incredibly spicy! I struggled to eat mine as my lips were burning and it made my eyes water!
