Day 109: More Sailing!

Westport, 11.28.2019

Up early to sail around Abel Tasman National Park. This was a beautiful morning sail, a bit chilly but the sun was shining. It was so peaceful, and a great way to see more of the National Park given that I could only spent one night here. We anchored off at a little bay where we were able to walk along the sand and go searching for some seals. We then sailed back to where our hostel was so we could get packed up and head back on the road. Today I said farewell to a few people who I'd travelled with most in New Zealand. I would really miss Marissa and Ellie in particular as we have been together since day one. However, we would hopefully reunite in Queenstown at the end of the trip! My next stop on the Kiwi bus was Westport. On the way we made a stop off at Nelson Lakes for some photos. This was the most beautiful scenery I had every seen, still blue waters, blue skies and the sun shining! A few people jumped into the lake, which also had eals in, however I avoided this after my cold experience in Lake Taupo. Westport was a lovely little surfer village. With us only staying one night we didn't see a lot of it however the hostel was my favourite one yet. Really quirky and original, and I loved the kitchen! I spent the evening watching Netflix in the lounge area and cooked beans on toast for dinner. I shared a room with Maddie, Megan and John.

A Trip of a Lifetime!
