I'm ready! I make my way with Chelsea and Rachel to the beach for our dolphin kayak. Unfortunately, Rachel isn't doing it with us so she offered to watch our bags. We got split up and each went with an instructor, we were sad to be separated but pleased that I now would get to put in significantly less effort when rowing and the chances of dying by drowning or capsizing were also reduced.

First job was to get the kayaks through the waves, my instructor easily pushed us through the first set of waves and we headed for deeper water. I waved to Chelsea as we passed each other, both looking happy enough in our boats. We first tried to spot turtles but, unfortunately, we had no luck in seeing them.

Just to the left of our boats, two dolphin fins popped out of the water and they swam beside us for a few seconds before disappearing out of sight. "Whale! Whale!" My instructor shouted to the group so I went into panic mode- desperate to see the whale but there was so much ocean I wasn't sure where exactly it was in the water! Eventually I saw it! It's huge hump curved and poking out the top of the surface. In the distance more whales blew steam and more backs poked out to let us know they were there.

In one incredible moment, I saw the tail of a whale rise high into the air and then gently splash back down to the surface. We sat for a while bobbing on the water, I was happy to take a break from pretending to row! We saw a couple more whales in the distance and then we saw one was crossing our path. Together we raced to get nearer to its path (I actually participated in rowing this time) and the whale popped up just meters from our kayaks. It was amazing to be so near one of the world's biggest animals! Especially one that isn't likely to eat you! It concluded our trip and we returned to land by surfing the waves in our kayaks and afterwards they fed us TimTams and tea - winning!
