#TheBoatTripThatWentWrong

Brisbane, 08.10.2017

I arrived in Brisbane with Erika and Jai and we checked into our hostel that overlooked the city. We were told about a free ferry that you could catch that takes you around the river so we decided we would take a walk down and catch the boat to get around the city.

Standing by a ferry terminal was a large group of people so we followed them into a boat and sat down. "Tickets please!" We looked at each other feeling a little confused before going to ask the lady if we were on the right ferry.

No, we were not on the free ferry. I had no change on me at all and neither did Jai, I told Erika that we needed to get off as she fumbled around looking for change. "Why are those buildings moving?" The boat had already started to set off and again we looked at each other with no idea what we were going to do. Luckily, Erika had almost enough for all three of us and a very kind guy gave us an extra $2. So we paid $15 dollars to go to a completely random spot in Brisbane and spent the next two hours walking back to where we started.

Finally, we found the actual free ferry and did a short trip around the river before getting off where we started. I was boiling so when we returned to the hostel we had a late night swim in the pool to cool off.
