#RowRowRowYourBoat

Noosa Everglades, 12.10.2017

We were greeted by a much friendlier camp leader, called Andy in the morning who briefed us on our canoe trip. We basically had to make sure we went down the river the right way and since there were only two options, it wasn't very difficult to do!

I was in a canoe with Bibi and Wietske, we nominated Wietske as our captain because she seemed like the bossiest and I was too scared of her to argue. My arms immediately started to ache as we waded through the current- there was no pretending to row this time! The river itself was stunning with mangroves popping out the sides of its banks and hundreds of trees lining the water.

It didn't take us long to reach our destination and we soon beached our canoes and jumped in the bull shark and stingray infested waters to cool off!
Unfortunately we didn't see any animals that could potentially kill us which is always disappointing but we did enjoy sunning ourselves on the "beach" which was an area of land just big enough to fit all of us on if we sat cross legged on the sand and grass.

When we returned to camp, new people had arrived. A group of English people from Stratford upon Avon and a couple of Germans. They were looking just as confused at the camp set up and itinerary as we were as they explained how they had gotten the trip for free!

Feeling peckish, we made tea and got our packet of Smiths chips and all snuggled down to watch a movie. Then another movie! We debated going for a walk but it seemed like a lot of effort so we just walked to the kettle to make more tea!
