#TheGreatOceanRoad

The Great Ocean Road, 15.09.2017

We ended our first day on the road at the Twelve Apostles to watch the sunset. Now, yes they are very beautiful but I was a little annoyed at the title of the rocks. Twelve Apostles. I counted only seven! Okay, again yes, there used to be one more but I have taught Year Three Maths and they would be able to tell you that 7+1 still does not equal 12...

Putting my anger aside, I did enjoy the views of the seven apostles. The rain had subsided leaving just the bitterly cold wind in the air which in turn created enormous waves that roared and crashed into the rocks.

Another stop along the road was when we visited the famous lighthouse. It is the oldest lighthouse in Australia and has beautiful views of the ocean. The wind was still wild so when we stepped out to the viewing platform at the top, we gripped tightly onto the rail.

Afterwards, we headed for a small walk in a rainforest. Huge trees towered over us as I checked for snakes and spiders with every step. No snakes or spiders to report this time, I'm not sure if I was relieved or disappointed that they didn't make an appearance.
