Paris

Paris, France, 03.02.2017

We took a spontaneous trip to Paris for two nights! We took the train to France. On our first day we climbed the Eiffel Tower, to the very top, we walked to the highest level you could, which was the second floor and then we took the elevator to the very top! It was very high up there! The Eiffel Tower was originally designed as an exhibit for the 1889 World Fair. It was planned to be dismantled later on! Imagine that? It was designed by Gustave Eiffel, hence where it gets its name.

The next day we took a trip to Chateau de Versailles. It was a grand palace, that originated as a hunting lodge, but as Louis XIV inherited it he transformed it into a very extravagant palace! It was built in the late sixteen hundreds! In its peak period it had around ten thousand people bustling around. The Treaty of Versailles was also signed there to end the First World War!

That night we went to Notre Damé at dusk, it was very beautiful and we saw the half moon and we saw the lights come on over all the gargoyles. Notre Damé is one of the oldest buildings in Paris!

The next day we went to the Arc de Triomphe, built in 1836 for Napoleon's victory. In its centre there is an ever burning fire, for the unknown soildiers who died at war!
